I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
- Pablo Neruda
About Andrea Kellan
After several years of working internationally in fashion and portrait, I was asked by friends to shoot their wedding. I was overwhelmed by the wonderful raw and magical aura of that day and have since combined my understanding of light, composition and storytelling to shoot many more weddings.
I specialise in artistic reportage style wedding photography and like to see my work as a tribute to the enigmatic bride - our vision is cinematic, authentic and timeless. My work also includes boudoir books, family portraits and couple shoots and I am represented internationally by the wedding style directory the Lane. My work has also featured in the March, April and May 2018 British Vogue under their "Vogue gets hitched" wedding recommendations.
After spending the last ten years across the USA, Europe and South Africa and seeing love in all forms and nationalities, I now live between Berlin, Germany and Cape Town, South Africa but travel frequently for work.
