I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
- Pablo Neruda
About Andrea Kellan
After several years of working internationally in fashion and portrait, I was asked by friends to shoot their wedding. I was overwhelmed by the wonderful raw and magical aura of that day and have since combined my understanding of light, composition and storytelling to shoot many more weddings.
I specialise in artistic reportage style wedding photography and like to see my work as a tribute to the enigmatic bride - our vision is cinematic, authentic and timeless. My work also includes boudoir books, family portraits and couple shoots and I am represented internationally by the wedding style directory the Lane.
After spending the last ten years across the USA, Europe and South Africa and seeing love in all forms and nationalities, I now live between Berlin, Germany and Cape Town, South Africa but travel frequently for work.
